Welcome to Almasa Alnasea’s gold market update for Wednesday August 5. Gold has risen for a third day in a row, now trading near $4,130 per ounce — its highest in about two weeks, and up from $4,070 on Monday. Big news is driving the move, and big days lie just ahead. Here is our clear and welcoming guide to what is happening and what it means for your gold plans.
Today’s prices:
24K: ~$132.80/gram | 22K: ~$121.75/gram | 21K: ~$116.20/gram | 18K: ~$99.60/gram
Why is gold rising? Two good reasons at the same time — which is unusual. First, the chance that America raises interest rates in September has fallen sharply, from 81% last week to about 57% now. When interest rates are less likely to rise, gold becomes more attractive, because gold does not pay interest and competes better when rates are low. Second, the US-Iran situation has reached a dramatic point: Washington says a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could come today or tomorrow — but there are also serious threats if talks fail. Hope and worry are both sending buyers to gold.
What this means for you: Gold is about 26% below its January record. A 50-gram gold necklace costs approximately $2,358 less than at that peak — still good value, though the discount narrows a little each day gold rises. Compared with Monday, a 50-gram necklace costs about $98 more today.
Our welcoming guidance:
For weddings, engagements, and gifts: if your occasion is soon, buying now is wise — prices are rising, and analysts expect $4,500 to $4,900 by year-end if a peace deal holds.
For long-term savings: you are in excellent company. Big investment funds in China keep buying gold, and the world’s central banks bought 244 tonnes in the first three months of the year. The world’s most careful institutions trust gold — a strong sign.
For those who prefer to wait: Friday brings America’s big jobs report. If it is strong, gold could dip back toward $4,050 — a chance to buy at a better price. If it is weak, gold will likely rise further. A sensible approach: buy part now, and part after Friday.
A reassuring point: Gold is up about 21.6% compared to a year ago, and every time it has dipped near $4,000 this year, buyers have stepped in. Its value rests on real, lasting demand.
Important: This is a fast-moving week — a deal or major news could come at any hour. Please confirm the live price with us before you purchase. Almasa Alnasea is delighted to serve you.
