Welcome to Almasa Alnasea’s gold market update for Monday July 27. We have genuinely hopeful news to share today. Gold has risen above $4,100 per ounce, up more than 1%, after the US-Iran fighting paused over the weekend and oil prices fell sharply. For the first time this year, the calming of the war has helped gold rise — and while prices are a little higher, they remain well below January’s record, so there is still good value. Here is our clear and welcoming guide.

Today’s prices:

24K: ~$131.50/gram | 22K: ~$120.55/gram | 21K: ~$115.10/gram | 18K: ~$98.65/gram

Why did gold rise today? After 13 days of strikes, the US paused its attacks on Iran, and for a third night in a row neither side attacked. This eased worries about oil supplies, so oil prices fell sharply. Here is the important part: lower oil means less inflation, which takes pressure off the US Federal Reserve to raise interest rates — and that helps gold. So this time, the calming of the war lifted gold instead of pushing it down.

What this means for you: Gold is still about 27% below its January record. A 50-gram gold necklace costs approximately $2,400 less than it would have at that peak — so value remains good. But prices have started to rise, so if you are planning a purchase, acting sooner may be wise.

Our welcoming guidance:

For weddings, engagements, and gifts: value is still good, and prices are now rising. A good moment to buy.

For long-term savings: central banks bought a net 41 tonnes of gold in May, and a record 45% plan to buy more this year. If a real ceasefire holds, many analysts expect gold to recover toward $4,500 to $4,900 by year-end.

For those who prefer caution: this is a pause, not a formal ceasefire — the war could restart. And the Federal Reserve meets Wednesday. Prices could still move either way, so consider buying part now and part later.

A reassuring point: Gold is up roughly 19% compared to a year ago, and it has stayed above $4,000 since late June, with buyers stepping in each time it dips near that level. The reasons people trust gold — its lasting value and the steady buying by central banks — remain firmly in place.
